Ace of Spades
It looks like fans of Swedish hardcore punk band Refused have to say goodbye to the band for good in 2025. But don’t worry, they’re not going down without a fight. To send themselves off, they’re headlining the one and only Refused are Fucking Dead Tour. The tour sees the band travelling across the map to North America, then moving closer to home for some face time with their European fans. What’s better than that? Maybe the fact that they’ll also be joined by post-hardcore rockers Quicksand. They’re a match made in heaven, and they’re coming straight to you, Sacramento. Tickets are on sale now, where are you?
As a band, Refused have been through the wringer. Breaking up halfway through their US tour supporting their notorious album, The Shape of Punk to Come, the band’s initial run was short. After just seven years of performing and releasing music, they came to a screeching halt after a series of “emotionally” devastating shows. They reunited for the first time in 2012, but good things never last. They gotta go, so pay them a visit on their way out, will you? Grab some tickets to their show at the Ace of Spades in Sacramento. Quicksand will be there, will you?
Refused aren’t like other bands. No seriously, I mean it. They have an on again off again relationship with themselves. They break up, get back together, perform at a couple of festivals here and there, and then suddenly, they’re gone again. They’re elusive. But don’t get your hopes up; that doesn’t mean that there’s a chance they’ll return after this tour. The Refused are Fucking Dead Tour is the last you’ll ever see of them, for real this time. So don’t be shy, grab yourself some tickets. You don’t wanna go your whole life without seeing Refused live, do you? Of course not. Grab some tickets!
Since this tour really is their last hurrah, Refused is pulling out all the stops for this upcoming tour, Refused Are Fucking Dead. Coming along for the ride, Quicksand are a post-hardcore metalhead’s dreams, and they’ve been around almost as long as Refused! Which is, in case, you don’t know, a really long time. Their most recent release was Distant Populations, which was only their fourth studio album in over thirty years of music. Their post-hardcore sound mixed with the chaotic, jazz influenced punk of Refused, make for a perfect night out. And you’re in luck, cause they’re headed to Sacramento! Get tickets now… before it’s too late.
Refused has had a good run. In spite of many hurdles and inner turmoil, they’ve continued to try again and again to keep the band going. The results of that effort weren't always perfect, but hey, it’s punk rock. Hardly a genre where you have to strive to be too good, in my opinion. In fact, their most iconic album (the one celebrating a major milestone) was once hated by critics and listeners alike. Years later, a new generation of punk rock nerds identified with its experimental vibes, some aspiring musicians even citing them as a source of inspiration. Things change, huh? Now, the band is celebrating the album that earned them a cult following to say goodbye. For good this time. Seriously, this is it, so grab your tickets while you can, okay? They’re on sale now… what are you waiting for?
