Leprous at Ace of Spades

The Norwegian metal scene, perhaps best known for its notorious black metal division, is rather diverse. From black metal to progressive rock, the country has shaped heavy metal in immeasurable ways. But with Norway’s modern metal scene, the lines between genres often blurs. Leprous is a great example of this; with their blend of progressive metal, hardcore, and alternative elements, they bring listeners experimental progressive rock that packs a punch. Leprous are a rather curious band. Blending genres like flavours in an exotic dish of metal realness, they don’t particularly belong to any one scene. Their early albums focused more on the metal side of things, but by the time they released their fifth album, Malina, they focused more on the rock side of things. Now, they’re back with their eighth album, Melodies of Atonement, which mixes together both ends of the spectrum in a way that fans really love. It came out on August 30th 2024, so get familiar with it, because you’ve got a show coming up. Their show in Sacramento, California is this April, so get your tickets while you can!

It’s already looking like it’s going to be a pretty big year for Leprous. They just released their newest album, Melodies of Atonement, last August, and now they’re hitting the road. The Norwegian metal band is headed out on a massive world tour, with dates all across North America and parts of Europe. They’ll be kicking things off with a show in Madrid, Spain, on January 16th 2025, and coming to a stellar conclusion on May 13th 2025 in Carrboro, North Carolina. And somewhere along the way, they’re going to be closer to you than you may think!
